Oman exports fish worth OMR140 million in 2022

Muscat: The total fish exports of the Sultanate of Oman by the end of 2022 stood at about 281.601 tonnes, generating OMR140,089,300 and posting a rise of 15.8 per cent compared to 2021.

The figures issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicated that Omani fish exports to the GCC countries stood at about 74,323 tonnes at the end of last year. As many as 2372 tonnes of fish were exported to Europe, 18,996 tonnes to America and 185,909 to other countries.

The Sultanate of Oman's fish exports varied between fresh fish (64,545 tonnes), frozen fish (200,763 tonnes), crustaceans and molluscs (15,240 tonnes) and other fish (1052 tonnes).
