Muscat: Muscat Media Group (MMG) has announced a strategic partnership with the Oman Energy Association (Opal) through Gulf Leaders Circle (GLC).
As part of the agreement, Opal will become the main partner for the upcoming GCC Business Summit, to be organised by Gulf Leaders Circle.
The forum aims to promote Omani products, enhance cooperation and review investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman as well as other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, with a special focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The forum will also promote the sharing of knowledge and expertise among the participants.
On behalf of the MMG, Ahmed Essa Al Zedjali, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MMG and the Editor-in-Chief of Al Shabiba, signed the agreement while Opal was represented by Abdulrahman Al Yahyaei, its CEO.
In a statement, Al Zedjali said, “At MMG, we believe that media establishments can go beyond the mere dissemination of news reports and the distribution of reliable and authentic information and play a significant role in the national economy while promoting economic cooperation with various companies and establishments across GCC countries. This cooperation can be achieved through various events such as forums and conferences and through coordination between the leaders in economic fields.”
Speaking on the Gulf Leaders Circle division, he said that the main goal was to boost understanding of business trends in GCC states and enhance trade relations among the countries.
“Gulf Leaders Circle recently organised a round table meeting on ‘Change through Technology in association with Microsoft’, which shed light on how emerging companies in the Sultanate can adopt new technologies to provide the best services,” he said.
Another round table meeting, held to enhance cooperation between Omani and Saudi companies operating in the field of energy, also witnessed large-scale success, he said, adding that the current strategic partnership with Opal was a delightful step in the right direction.
“MMG, through GLC, will organise several such forums and conferences in the future aimed at creating partnerships with establishments and companies of other countries.”
Abdulrahman Al Yahyaei, CEO of Opal, also expressed his support for the agreement and said that this partnership would focus on organising a conference to bring together CEOs from the Sultanate of Oman and the KSA in Muscat.
