Temperature set to rise across parts of Oman

Muscat: There will be a noticeable rise in temperatures for two days from Sunday, August 27, around the coastal areas of Oman Sea, Oman Meteorology said.

"A noticeable rise in the apparent temperature (the actual feeling of temperature as a result of high humidity levels) today and tomorrow in the coastal areas of the Sea of ​​Oman (Governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Muscat), which could lead to heat exhaustion and the possibility of heatstroke," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.

Hamra Ad Duru in Ibri Governorate and Dema wa Taeen in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate recorded the highest temperature in the Sultanate of Oman on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 46.9 degrees Celsius each, followed by Maqshin station in Dhofar with 46.6 degrees Celsius and then Fahud in Ibri Governorate at 46.4 degrees Celsius.

Sunaynah station in Al Buraimi Governorate was recorded at 46.4 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was 46.3 degrees Celsius in Barka in South Al Batinah Governorate and 46.2 degrees Celsius in Amerat, Muscat Governorate.
