Expat students invited to apply for scholarships in India

Muscat: The Embassy of India in Oman has invited applications from NRI students living in Oman for a special scholarship programme.
Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin can apply for this scheme, involving undergraduate programmes, according to an online statement from the embassy.
"Applications are invited for educational sholarships under Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for academic year 2018-19. For more information, please visit http://spdcindia.gov.in/login/index.php ,” the Indian embassy tweeted.
"SPDC scholarships are available to children of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs) in 66 countries (including Oman) for undergraduate programmes.
The scheme is applicable to the following four categories: children of PIOs, children of NRIs, Children of Indian workers working in Emigration Check Required (ECR) countries (including Oman), studying abroad and children of Indian workers in ECR countries (including Oman) studying in India," the statement read.
"Detailed eligibility requirements, documents needed, guidelines for filing the application form and terms and conditions of the scholarship are available at the website. One can also contact the embassy at [email protected]," it added.
