Video: Heavy rainfall recorded in various parts of Dhofar

Muscat: With Cyclone Mekunu only a few hundred kilometres off the Oman coast, rainfall has already begun in parts of the Dhofar governorate, with some areas, such as Sadah, receiving as much as 17mm of rain on Thursday. Mirbat received 7 mm of rain, while Jasser, Dalkot, Port of Salalah and Salalah recorded 5.2 mm, 4.4 mm, 2.2 mm and 1 mm of rainfall, respectively, according to Oman Meteorology.
These shots, shared by local weather monitoring portal Weather Omanya on Twitter, captured some of the rain in Hasik, Jebel Al Qamar, Rakhyut and Sadah, all in the Dhofar governorate.
Cyclone Mekunu is expected to make landfall in Salalah on Friday, May 25.
