Cyclone Mekunu: ROP official issues warning for citizens, residents

Muscat: Police officials from Dhofar police have advised citizens and residents in low lying areas in the governorate to move to higher ground, Royal Oman Police said in a statement on Thursday.
Dhofar governorate Police Brigadier Commander said, "We call on citizens and residents to move from low-lying areas to more secure areas. Police have deploy more staff in areas most affected by the cyclone, and ambulances and civil defence vehicles have been distributed in all wilayats of the governorate."
ROP also warned citizens and resident not to venture out into the storm, to stay indoors and to listen for weather updates and warnings from official channels, to avoid the spread of rumours.
