Rainfall expected in these governorates of Oman

Muscat: Three governorates of the Sultanate of Oman may witness heavy rainfall ranging between 10-20 mm from 12 pm till 9 pm on Monday, August 14, 2023, said Oman Meteorology.

According to Meteorology, the mountainous areas of South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah and North Al Sharqiyah Governorates may receive heavy rain today.

"Heavy rain ranging between 10-20 mm, may cause downdraft winds of 20-40 knots along with poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thunderstorms, and chances of overflowing valleys," Oman Meteorology added.

Oman Meteorology has advised people to move away from low-lying areas, not to attempt to swim in valleys. It has also recommended for people to supervise their children and make sure they avoid approaching or crossing valleys in order to ensure their safety.
