Muscat: The exhibition ‘Nuzhat Al Qanas-a tribute to Zahran Al Qasimi’, organised in cooperation with the Bahraini author and photographer Hussain Al Mahrous, was inaugurated at the headquarters of the Cultural Club in Qurum on Tuesday.
The exhibition has been organised to celebrate Al Qasimi’s work who has contributed to the history of the Sultanate of Oman through his various literary works, revealing its richness, and indomitable spirit.
His creativity culminated in the winning of International Booker Prize for his Arabic novel “The Westernisation of the Cave”.
Al Qasimi’s creative texts are liked by thousands of readers inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The exhibition includes 25 photographs which present a visionary record of the Sultanate of Oman and its attractive natural formation, human presence and its stories, In his novel ‘The Westernisation of the Cave’, Al Qasimi has described different places in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
He has described about villages, mountains, valleys, paths, falaj, springs and trees, where the photographer who accompanied Al Qasimi for nine years in documenting those sites through which he selected the photos. The exhibition will continue until the end of August.
