Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized a number of coconut shops in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate for refusing to provide services and overcharging customers.

The Judicial Enforcement Team of the Consumer Protection Department in Dhofar managed to seize a number of coconut shops in the Wilayat of Salalah, which refrained from providing the service and hid the price lists authorised and approved by the department before the Khareef season, in addition to raising prices during commercial movement taking place in the governorate due to Khareef Tourism Season 2023. This coincided with the active monitoring and awareness efforts in various markets and commercial centres in the governorate by the Consumer Protection Authority , with the aim of maintaining price stability and ensuring that suppliers comply with the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations.

The raids resulted in the seizure and release of 15 violations for a number of shops. The violators were arrested, violations were issued, and all legal measures were taken.
