Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), represented by the Department of Human Resources, in cooperation with the Capital Experts Institute, organised a specialised training programme entitled 'Basic Skills to Empower Employees'.
The five-day programme aims to provide the participants with the knowledge, job skills, and modern behavioural trends that qualify them to perform administrative work efficiently and effectively.
The programme also aims to provide them with the practical applications necessary to complete the work and simplify its procedures to render the best services, and to develop their positive attitudes towards themselves and their departments.
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Rawahi, Head of Training and Development Department and Ejada System Responsible for Individual and Institutional Performance Measurement at Opaz, explained, “The programme will enable employees to participate with them in drawing their personal goals and linking them to the functional organisation. The programme will also provide them with basic skills in communication skills and communication arts. It will also help participants acquire basic communication skills that they need in the work environment. The programme also seeks to instil basic work ethics and loyalty."
“The training programme focuses on defining personal goals and career planning, communication skills and understanding of personality, refining job skills and fourth industrial wealth skills, developing positive behaviour to increase productivity, ethics of positive behaviour to increase productivity and writing letters, memos and e-mails," Al Rawahi added.
It is noteworthy that Opaz seeks to follow the best practices in the field of capacity building in the work environment by identifying employees who can transfer and share functional and scientific knowledge with other staff members. Opaz also seeks to rehabilitate and refine the skills and competencies of employees to tailor the training programmes that meet the needs of the employees in 2023.
