Muscat: The results of the General Education Diploma (GED), exams for the first round of the academic year 2022/2023 will be announced on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shibaniyah, Minister of Education, approved today the general indicators for the results of the General Education Diploma exams and their equivalents for the first round of the academic year 2022/2023. She blessed the students for success and congratulated their parents for what they have done towards achieving the aspirations of their children.
The number of applicants for the General Education Diploma reached 51,010 male and female students, with a success rate of 82.64 percent , and for the General Education Diploma for private schools (bilingual) 1,386 students, with a success rate of 91.89 percent. For the Technical General Education Diploma of the Royal Guard of Oman Technical College (bilingual) 54 students, with a success rate of 100 percent.
In the Diploma of General Education and Islamic Sciences, 115 students, the success rate is 98.25 percent , and in the General Education Diploma (Special Education), 62 students, and the rate of 100 percent .
Dr. Ali bin Salem Al Shukaili, Director General of Measurement and Evaluation Center at the Ministry of Education, stated that the results will be available starting tomorrow, Thursday, at 4 pm , through "Omantel", "Ooredoo" and "Vodafone", by sending a short text message containing the seat number to the number (90200). It will also be on the educational portal of the Sultanate of Oman later.
"The Ministry was keen to abide by the examination management regulations and took all necessary measures to ensure that the examinations are conducted according to plan and in a calm and comfortable educational atmosphere. Where the applicants took their exams for this year in (360) examination centers distributed in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, " Al Shukaily added.
The Director General of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the Ministry indicated that despite the efforts made, 58 violations of the regulations for administering general education diploma exams and their equivalents were monitored. The necessary measures were taken in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. (588/2015), where the Ministry verified all the circumstances surrounding it to ensure each case before applying the appropriate penalties, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
Al Shukaily emphasised that procedures and penalties have been applied to violating applicants, explaining that the ministry is continuing to implement procedures to reduce exam violations, activate the role of administrative accounting, and intensify visits by technical committees to exam centers to follow up on the implementation of exam management controls and monitor violations.
