Muscat: Dhofar Municipality has denied rumours that circulated on social media platforms about preventing visitors' vehicles from entering Wadi Darbat in Dhofar Governorate.
"Dhofar Municipality notes that what is being circulated through social media to prevent visitors' vehicles from entering Wadi Darbat is incorrect. However, buses will be provided free of charge, in cooperation between Dhofar Municipality and Mwasalat Company, to transport visitors from parking lots to the Darbat Waterfall view area only, due to the lack of sufficient parking in that area," Dhofar Municipality said in a statement.
Wadi Darbat is one of the most beautiful wadis in the Governorate of Dhofar due to its stunning views, with greenery, lush orchards, constant flow of water, and seasonal waterfalls.
Wadi Darbat is located in the east of the wilayat of Taqah at a distance of 7 kilometres, where Sidr trees and many large shady trees are spread on its sides. Darbat is known to represent a natural park due to its combined elements such as mountains, waterfalls, caves, and flat plains on both the sides, which allows wildlife like the nests of endemic and migratory birds and various wild animals to exist.
