Transport Ministry pays private sector dues worth OMR 80 million

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has said that it paid OMR80 million from private sector dues emanating from development projects supervised by the ministry during the first half of this year (2023).

During the first half of 2023, the ministry received financial revenues estimated at OMR20 million, and this constituted a rise of 100 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

Fahd Salim Al Hinai, Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said that the ministry conducted 53 training programmes and workshops during the first half of 2023.

As many as 520 employees benefited from the training programmes, which included specialised, general administrative, technical and leadership programmes, Al Hinai added.

Meanwhile, the Human Resources Development Department at the Ministry provided 28 free seats for public sector employees to enable them to tap the benefits of the ministry’s specialisations and meet market requirements, Al Hinai affirmed.

He pointed out that 265 male and female employees of the ministry benefited from similar programmes during the first half of 2023.
