Citizen in Oman arrested for promoting immoral activities online

Muscat: A citizen has been arrested for promoting immoral activities on social media, the Royal Oman Police announced on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the man had published a video on social media and was encouraging people to indulge in immoral activities.
The officials said, "Police at Al Khoud station arrested a citizen on charges of violating public morality by using the Internet to publish a video on social networking [websites] encouraging people to perform immoral acts, which is in violation of the provisions of the IT Crimes Law."
The accused was referred to judicial authorities for further investigation.
