His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s Cup for School Hygiene awarded

Ibri: The Ministry of Education yesterday celebrated the handing over of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s Cup for School Hygiene for 2016/2017.
The Governorate of A’Dhahirah came first and the Governorate of North Al Batinah came second. The Governorates of A’Dakhiliyah and Al Buraimi shared the third place.
The celebration was held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Suayed Al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development in the presence of Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shibaniyah, Minister of Education and Sheikh Saif bin Himyar Al Shihhi, Governor of A’Dhahirah. Mohammed bin Hamdan Al Toobi, Advisor of the Ministry of Education said in his speech that the education system of the Sultanate is witnessing constant upgradation to keep pace with the developments at the world level.
To this end, a new competition will be created starting from next year called ‘Sultan Qaboos Award for Sustainable Development in School Environment’.
The award aims at building integrated personalities among students and providing them with the skills needed to handle contemporary issues. The award aims at encouraging students to leverage their energies and capabilities to serve the education, sustainable development and volunteering issues.
