State Council Office discusses Mineral Resources Draft Law

Muscat: The State Council Office on Tuesday held its ninth meeting for the third annual sitting of the sixth term under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council.
The meeting discussed the “Mineral Resources Draft Law” referred by the Council of Ministers and Majlis Al Shura’s report on it. It also discussed the proposal submitted by the Special Committee on the “National Programme for Government Excellence and Creativity.”
The office hosted Eng. Nashiaa bint Saud Al Kharousiya, head of the committee and Dr. Easa bin Said Al Kiyoumi, Rapporteur of the Committee and Dr. Hassan bin Ali Al Madhani, member of the Committee to discuss the proposal with them.
The meeting reviewed the proposal submitted by the Social Committee on the “Development of the Social Security System”.
The study aims at identifying the reality of the performance of the social security system and its policies and legislations, including organising laws and regulations.
After discussing the proposal, the meeting decided to refer it to the plenary session of the Council.
The meeting also reviewed the proposal submitted by Sheikh Khalfan bin Khamis Al Hashemi on the “Water Resources Protection Law” and reviewed the report submitted by Khamis bin Said Al Sulaimi on the meeting with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, on the publication of the Arab Environmental Document.
