Muscat: Parts of the Sultanate of Oman may witnessed heavy rains, alerted Oman Meteorology on Thursday, 29 June, 2023.
Previously Oman metrology said in an alert: “Thundershowers may cause poor horizontal visibility, associated with downdraft wind reaching (15-40)KT with chances of valleys overflowing and hail."
The effected areas are: Dhofar governorate and Al Hajar Mountains, Al Dakhyliah, Al Dhahira, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah and Al Buraimi.
To ensure safety:
Move away from low lying areas and valleys, and do not attempt to swim in them.
Do not risk crossing valleys in order to protect yourself and those with you in the vehicle.
Keep an eye on children and do not allow them to approach valleys.
