Muscat: Following the announcement that EDM producer Avicii, A.K.A. Tim Bergling, had been found dead in Muscat, musicians and celebrities around the world took to social media to express their condolences.
Leading the tributes, fellow DJ Calvin Harris posted, "Devastating news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do. My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim x."
EDM legend Tiesto tweeted a photo of himself with Avicii and said, "Words can not describe how I feel right now..I am gonna miss you brother."
English starlet Dua Lipa added, "Such sad news to hear about Avicii passing. Too young and way too soon. My condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans x."
German-Russian record producer Zedd also paid tribute, saying, "No words can describe the sadness I'm feeling right now, hearing about Avicii passing away... Thoughts go out to his family and friends...."
EDM world left reeling
Avicii rose to fame as one of Europe's most dynamic EDM talents, renowned for creating hits such as 'Wake Me Up' and 'Hey Brother'. His death has shook the world of music, hitting his fellow EDM artists and fans particularly hard.
Fellow Swedish DJ Ingrosso, part of the former collective Swedish House Mafia, tweeted this photo of Avicii with him and fellow DJs Axwell, Steve Angello and Alesso, saying, "I can’t find words but what I can say is that we all where couple of young kids from Sweden with dreams and Tim inspired us all and millions more. RIP my brother your music will live forever."

In a tweet late Friday night, deadmau5, said, "My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to the friends, fans and families of @Avicii :( Banter aside, nobody can deny what he has accomplished and done for modern dance music and I'm very proud of him."
Rita Ora, who released the hit 'Lonely Together' with Avicii, also posted, "I have no words. I remember how amazing it was to make Lonely Together and feels just like yesterday we were talking. Condolences to Avicii's family, friends, and the fans who supported him. May he rest in peace. Gone to soon. I'm devastated. Heartbroken."
