Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), in cooperation with the Omani Network for Volunteers "Taawon", organised a training programme for its employees on the strategic community partnership for sustainability.
The programme aims to promote the importance of voluntary work and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) among employees. Further, it served to familiarise employees with the different techniques of managing and executing CSR initiatives and projects to give back to society.
Organising this training programme came to enlighten employees with different values, some of which are emphasising the sense of belonging, community service, and commitment to social work ethics. On the other hand, the programme included interactive sessions to train the participants on the basics of effective voluntary work by developing a joint action plan, based on promoting teamwork in various CSR projects and initiatives. Moreover, the programme will touch on the trends and principles of voluntary work as well as highlight several ideas and proposals that employees can work on as social projects.
It is worth noting that the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones accords high importance to social responsibility by conducting several different initiatives and projects, reflecting its policies towards social responsibility, enhancing its In-Country Value (ICV), supporting local start-ups, and empowering Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in their various economic, commercial, social and other activities in all special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities supervised by Opaz.
