Muscat: In line with the upcoming Khareef Season, the Capital Market Authority (CMA) has issued a circular to all insurance companies instructing them to prepare their branches and departments to provide proper insurance coverage, to be prepared to deal with the Khareef Season in Dhofar Governorate in a proper way and to utilize this season in enhancing the insurance culture.
This circular highlights the desired integration among the units of the apparatus of the state to provide an integrated tourism infrastructure that offers all services and facilities necessary for visitors; on which guarantees success of tourism seasons.
In its circular, the CMA stressed on the importance of ensuring the availability of the required facilities to get insurance services in border checkpoints and offering a package of procedures to support the insurance companies branches in Dhofar Governorate through providing enough number of employees and ensuring 24- hour service during weekdays. The circular also focused on the importance of activating online services for purchasing different insurance products and organizing the claims processes. In addition, the circular instructed the companies to provide direct contact numbers for the different branches and immediate support to speed up the process of dealing with claims.
In regards to utilizing this season that attracts large numbers of citizens and visitors to the Sultanate of Oman for enhancing insurance culture , the circular emphasized the importance of enhancing awareness programs and initiatives through participating in sending awareness messages related to traffic safety to reduce traffic accidents, cultivating insurance culture, introducing the importance of insurance as means to reduce risks and promoting and marketing insurance products especially health insurance policies for visitors, health insurance products, tractor-trailer insurance and cargo insurance.
