Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Oil and Gas has announced fuel prices for the month of April, with rates remaining the same as last month.
According to the announcement made by National Subsidy System for fuel, M91 petrol will cost consumers 205 baisas per litre. M95 petrol is priced at 216 baisas per litre, while the price of diesel will remain at 238 baisas per litre.
The M98 grade of petrol for premium vehicles will continue to be sold at 266 baisas per litre.
According to the plan, Omanis that are registered in the fuel subsidy plan can avail of fuel at 180 baisas per litre. Resident are getting used to the no-subsidy fuel.
“The prices of fuel are fine and there is little effect on the expenses of people. I believe people are learning to become more efficient and make better use of the resources they have. It is a natural process so we are happy about it,” Maaz, an Indian expatriate, said.
“The fuel prices have remained the same as last month and this is a sign of a stabilising economy. Most people would be happy about this and the government’s efforts to tackle low-income group issues are also commendable,” Aamir, another Indian expat, said.
