​Weather update: Winter is officially over in Oman

Muscat: Goodbye winter - summer has arrived.

Temperatures across the country are starting to nudge 35 degrees, as Oman shakes off the winter cool and prepares for a long, hot summer.

The mercury got as high as 36 degrees on Saturday in places like Khasab and Buraimi.

In Ibri, Fahud and Mudhebi the maximum temperature stood at 35 degrees. In Muscat the maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees.

“With March 21 marking the first day of spring – the vernal equinox – from here on in, the days are going to get longer as Oman enters the summer months,” a local weather expert said.
