Panel to be formed to review OFA Constitution

Muscat: The Oman Football Association has approved the formation of a committee that will review the OFA Constitution.
The decision to form the committee, which will be entrusted with the responsibility of reviewing the constitution of the Sultanate’s football governing body, was approved during the OFA Annual General Assembly on Saturday.
The OFA General Assembly was organised at the Hotel Intercon under the chairmanship of association chief Sheikh Salim Al Wahaibi and in the presence of representatives of member clubs.
During the meeting, the members discussed a number of financial, administrative and financial issues.
The members reviewed the 2017 financial report and also approved the budget for 2018.
During the General Assembly, the members also agreed to implement the AFC Club Licensing regulations from the beginning of the next season.
Considering the costs involved in adopting the AFC Club Licensing system, some clubs demanded financial support from the Ministry of Sports Affairs and the OFA agreed take necessary measures to meet their demands in co-ordination with the clubs and the ministry.
Meanwhile, the OFA also agreed to request the Asian Football Confederation to give the clubs another season to clear their pending dues with the AFC.
