Muscat: Al Sawari International Investments has signed its first contract with CC Energy Development (CCED). The US$9 million agreement was signed by Salem bin Sulayem Al Junaibi, Chairman of Al Sawari, and Walter Simpson, general manager of CCED.

According to the agreement, CCED will award logistics projects for three years to Al Sawari at the concession area in blocks 3 and 4.

Junaibi said the agreement signed with CCED marked the launch of logistics activities in the Al Wusta Governorate, which will be carried out mainly by qualified Omani resources.

“The three-year contract will ensure stability and growth for the company and will also enhance our experience in implementing logistics services contracts for major oil and gas companies in the Sultanate,” he said.

“We take this opportunity to thank the government for supporting the super local community contractors (SLCCs). We would also like to thank our partners from the wilayats of Mahout and Duqm for their confidence and trust in the company's board and executive management,” he added.

Al Sawari CEO Mahmoud bin Humaid Al Jamaey said: “Al Sawari is a 100 per cent Omani company owned by local shareholders from the wilayats of Mahout and Duqm in the Al Wusta Governorate. The company appointed its chief executive officer in November 2017 and signed its first contract in February. This is a big achievement for our company.”

“This achievement may not have been possible without the valuable support of different stakeholders, including the Ministry of Oil and Gas, CC Energy Development, the board of directors and executive management. As per the agreement, Al Sawari will provide lifting and heavy equipment services at the various sites at which CCED is operating,” he added.

“Al Sawari is looking forward to becoming a leader in oil and gas logistics services. The company will rely on qualified Omani human resources and will invest in their training and professional development to ensure the rendering of excellent services that not only meets the needs of our customers, but rather, exceeds their expectations. The company will also ensure compliance with the stringent HSE standards and will promote the safety culture among the staff,” Al Jamaey said.

Walter Simpson, managing director of CCED, said, “The contract with Al Sawari is the start of our cooperation with SLCCs. We are confident that the company will provide us with high quality services of world-class standards. They will also be our partners in success. CCED is a leader in joining hands with local companies at its concession areas and is very pleased to contribute to enhancing the growth of Al Sawari both locally and regionally.”

Al Sawari International Investment Company was established in March 2016 as a local joint stock company. The 371 shareholders of the company are from the wilayats of Mahout and Duqm. The company, which appointed its CEO in November 2017, is one of the SLCCs that has been established to provide every possible support to entrepreneurs and start-up companies.

Al Sawari will provide services to companies operating in oil and gas, business, economy, industry, tourism and community development.
