More than 300 students on waiting list for admission to Indian schools in Muscat

Muscat: The results of the first draw for admissions to the six Indian schools in the Muscat capital area were announced on Wednesday, with 324 students kept on the waiting list.
This year, the Indian School Board got 4,300 applications, which is 19 per cent less compared to the number of applications in 2017.
Last year, the Board received around 5,300 applications of which around 5,100 children finally took admissions in the Indian Schools.
According to statistics, the Indian School Board received 4,600 applications in 2014, 5,000 in 2015, 4,700 in 2016 and 5,300 applications in 2017.
The online registration for admissions (KG I to Class IX) in Indian schools in the capital area for 2018-19 started on January 10, 2018 and ended at 2:00 pm on February 15, 2018.
“The applicants in the waiting list will be considered for allotment in the next draw which will be held in the last week of March,” Wilson V. George, Chairman, Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, said.
