Khat, contraband cigarettes and tobacco seized in Oman

Muscat: Customs officials managed to seize huge quantities of contraband cigarettes, chewing tobacco and khat.
According to authorities the smuggled goods were seized in three different parts of Oman.
In a statement online Oman Customs said, “The Al-Wajajah Customs foiled the smuggling of banned cigarettes that were hidden in different parts of a vehicle.”
The Customs of Sarfait port thwarted an attempt to smuggle khat that was hidden under the rear seat of a vehicle, officials said.
Meanwhile, “The Al Buraimi port Customs busted an attempt to smuggle contraband cigarettes and chewed tobacco. The smuggled goods were hidden inside a refrigerator that was meant for vegetables and fruits,” authorities added.
