Geneva: Represented by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Sultanate of Oman took part in the 5th Global Forum on Human Resources for Health, held in Geneva.
Oman's delegation was represented in the forum by Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, MOH Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs.
The global forum came this year under the theme: Protecting, safeguarding, and investing in the health and care workforce.
The Ministry of Health highlighted lessons learned from COVID-19, workforce development in the future and health workforce investment.
The Ministry of Health also reviewed Oman's experience in investment in the health field and plans compatible with Oman Vision 2040.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health also reviewed its experience in establishing an investment health laboratory by involving various stockholders nationally and globally.
The forum addressed updates on progress in implementing the Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health: Workforce 2030. It also shared evidence and experiences on workforce development, and opportunities for a post-COVID-19 era. The forum also examined the required policy solutions, investments, and multi-sectoral partnerships to address health and care workforce challenges and advance health.
The forum gathered a range of actors, including high-impact decision-makers, across education, finance, gender, health, labor/employment, and migration sectors are participating in the Forum.
