Over 80,000 jobs created 'to date': Transport minister

Muscat: Over 80,000 jobs have been created in the logistics sector, Ahmed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications announced.

In response to a question by Hamoud Al Yahyai, president of the Shura Council's social department, regarding the government's plans to train and improve young people; to fill 15,000 jobs annually in the logistics sector, Al Futaisi said: "Over 80,000 jobs have been created in the sector to date."

The minister's comments came during a regular meeting of Shura Council ministers today.

Al Futaisi also said that a number of its employees have been sent abroad to train them in the field of railways.
