Florida: Hundreds gathered for a series of candlelight vigils on Monday night, February 19, to honour 17 victims of a high school shooting last week in Florida.

The Florida PTA called for a 'statewide candlelight vigil', held from 7 pm.

Large crowds gathered in Coral Springs, Florida, at Betti Stradling Park, with speakers reading victims' names and ages while holding up candles.

The suspected shooter, Nikolas Cruz, faces seventeen charges of pre-meditated murder. He returned to court for a hearing on Monday, in a case that has galvanised advocates of stricter gun control, including many of the rampage survivors
