Muscat: The Capital Market Authority (CMA) participated in the SQU Career Fair by presenting several practical training opportunities offered by insurance companies; which are suitable for graduates of accounting, finance and different management sciences.
The CMA’s participation also includes providing many practical and professional programs and workshops as part of the Tamkeen Initiative; which endeavours to empower national cadres in the field of insurance within the annual plan set by the CMA.
The CMA is keen to participate in this interactive event; which is awaited by a large group of graduates and job and training seekers; to shed light on its Omanisation initiatives and programmes that target various job positions in insurance companies and capital market institutions.
This is achieved through participating in Tamkeen initiative which aims at enhancing Omanisation percentages in the managerial and occupational job positions, whether operational, middle or senior.
The training programmes and opportunities are mainly focused on the fields of law, administration, finance and accounting and they come within a series of integrated plans for national cadres’ qualification to enable them to compete and occupy the best job levels. This eventually results in achieving the targeted percentages on an annual basis in all three job levels.
Notably, Tamkeen initiative contributed to increasing the Omanisation percentages in the insurance sector by more than 83 per cent.
Omanisation percentages in the operational job level increased to 90 per cent at the middle managerial and occupational levels to 78.3 per cent. As for senior managerial and professional levels, the percentages rose to 59.18 per cent in contrast to the year 2017 when it did not exceed 25 per cent.
