Muscat: Al-Qudra karate club emerged champions while Ali Al-Raisi karate club claimed the second place and The Champ karate club came third in the sixth Karate Pioneers Open Championship that concluded at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Saturday.
The three-day championship was organised by Karate Pioneers Academy and the awards were given in the presence of Salem bin Hamad Al Mahrouqi, Chairman of the Omani Karate Committee, and Muhammad Bahrami, President of the JSKA Organisation for Asia.
A total of 335 men and women players, representing 27 clubs, academies and private centres from nine countries, took part.
The championship was officiated by the head of the Karate Pioneers Academy, Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Zakwani. On the sidelines of the championship, a lecture was held for the coaches to get an update on the latest rules and regulations.
