Muscat: Taha bin Sulaiman Al-Kishry, Secretary General of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), received on Tuesday the boxing champions of Oman who got a number of medals in the fifth Katara Open Boxing Championship held in Qatar from 15 to 18 February.
Boxer Fares bin Ahmed Al-Muqbali won the gold medal in the 92 kg category while Firas bin Fida Al Balushi won the silver medal in the 56 kg category.
The meeting was attended by the Olympic boxing trainer Afaf Al-Qarniyeh, the first Qatari female
Boxer and Nasser bin Ali Al-Eisari, President of the Master Academy for Martial Arts, and the academy, players and administrators.
Al-Kishry, on behalf of the OOC Chairman and Board Members, congratulated the champions who won medals in their first international participation in boxing. He wished them and all other Omani athletes success in their future competitions in international events.
