Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Directorate General of Ports, announced that it issued 6 licenses for 5 companies to manage and operate marine berths for tourism and commercial purposes, after they fulfilled the requirements and provisions of the regulation for establishing, managing and operating marine berths outside ports.
The licenses granted to the companies include 4 tourism licenses granted to Al Marsa Travel and Tourism Company in the Wilayat of Dibba, Musandam Governorate, with a berth length of 250 meters; Saraya Bandar Al Jissah Company (Muscat Bay) in Muscat Governorate, with a berth length of 105 meters; Muriya Tourism Development Company (Jabal Al Sifah) in Muscat Governorate, with a berth length of 864 meters; and Muriya Tourism Development Company (Hawana Salalah) in Dhofar Governorate, with a berth length of 482 meters. .
The Ministry also granted two licenses to manage and operate marine berths outside the ports for commercial purposes. The licenses were granted to Oman LNG Company in the Wilayat of Sur in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with a length of 150 meters, and Al Shorooq Marine Handling and Navigation Company in the Wilayat of Sur, in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, with a length of 305 meters.
By issuing these licenses, the Ministry aims to support the sector of ports and maritime transport and the logistics system, to enrich tourism, commercial and industrial sectors in the Sultanate of Oman, to organize the ports and marine docks sector, and to raise their quality and align them with maritime safety requirements.
The ministry called upon local and international companies and investors specialized in the development, management and operation of ports and berths to view the investment opportunities announced by the Ministry through various media and the regulations governing this vital field.
