Forum to consolidate Saudi-Oman existing trade and investment relations

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion will organise the Saudi-Omani Investment Forum, scheduled to be held in Riyadh on February 1. The forum will be held in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Investment.

The forum seeks to consolidate existing trade and investment relations, find new strategic opportunities for joint investment and encourage private sector institutions in the two countries to open up broader avenues for joint action that benefits both sides.

The forum tasks include dialogue sessions to discuss the most promising investment sectors in the two countries, including renewable energy, supply chains, tourism, real estate, transport and logistics services. The sessions will also look into other activities of common interest that contribute to accelerating the volume of joint investment and enhancing trade exchange.

The forum will review prominent developments in the business and investment environment, as well as the functioning of industrial zones in the two countries. Private sector representatives on both sides will hold bilateral meetings to explore areas of cooperation, partnership and investment opportunities.
Government departments and major Omani and Saudi companies will showcase their products and services in a Saudi-Omani Industries Exhibition to be held on the sidelines of the forum.

Establishments that will take part in the forum include the Oman Investment Authority, the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
