This includes the parks, beaches, pedestrian paths, residential and commercial neighbourhoods and other vital sites.
“Our teams continue to work periodically to control these negative phenomena that the municipality suffers from tampering and vandalism,” a statement from Municipality said.
Head of Muscat Municipality, Mohsin bin Mohammed Ash’Sheikh has issued an administrative decision to create two authoritative divisions -Urban Inspection Service and Legal Follow-up - in order to control the negative phenomena that the municipality suffers from tampering and vandalism.
The decision intends to address the irregularities associated with the services provided by the municipality, and in an effort to create a good environment.
The urban inspection service will inspect and preserve the environment from all kinds of pollution.
One of the most important functions of the service is to conduct inspection visits within the directorate in order to ensure that there are no technical, administrative or environmental observations or irregularities associated with the services provided as well as keeping a thorough check on neglected compounds, dumping of waste in valleys and squares without a permit, and display of vehicles for sale in unassigned locations.
