Council of Ministers hails Oman team Gulf Cup victory

Muscat: The Council of Ministers yesterday issued a statement reading as follows: "Within the context of positive results achieved by the Omani National Football Team, which won the 23rd Gulf Cup in Kuwait, the Council of Ministers hereby congratulates our sons on this great sports feat. The Council also congratulates the administrative staff and coaches for their efforts and prays to Allah the Almighty to grant success to our youths, civil as well as military, in regional and international events. These accomplishments are a fruitful outcome of the continuous attention accorded by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the Omani youth for enhancing their ability so that they could do their best for the sake of the dear homeland.
"The Council of Ministers also commends our brethren in Kuwait for their good organisation of this sports tournament, the 23rd Gulf Cup, making it a successful event. We would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the efforts undertaken in handling the accident that happened at Jabir Al Ahmed International Stadium, notably the care and assistance received by the injured and the fans, who are recuperating, thanks to Allah the Almighty.
"The Council of Ministers also hails the fraternal spirit that prevailed among the participating sports teams and appreciates the teams’ professional performance that comes in tune with the tournament. We wish success to all."
