Conclusion of the Prevention health project celebrations in Wilayat of Duqm, Al Wusta Governorate
Duqm Hospital, represented by the Health Education Department, celebrated the conclusion of the "Prevention" health project in the Wilayat of Duqm in Al Wusta Governorate, whose activities began from the beginning of May until the end of December 2022.
Abdullah bin Obaid Al Junaibi, Administrative Supervisor at Duqm Hospital, said: “Prevention” project aims to shed light on new and recurring health problems in the community.
Al Junaibi indicated that the hospital focused on diabetes and worked out an integrated plan since May 2022, which included the implementation of individual and group interviews for diabetics by the hospital's health education department, identifying the problems they face, as well as educating community members and distributing blood glucose meters to patients.
The ceremony, which was held under the patronage of Sheikh Zaher bin Ali Al-Sunaidi, Deputy Wali of Duqm, included an educational exhibition for public health, as well as organising walks to raise awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and promoting physical activity.
Committees of Scout and Guide winter camps of North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah and Musandam Governorates meet
The Scouts and Guides Department of the Directorate General of Education in North Al Batinah Governorate organised a meeting of the scout and guide winter camp committees for the governorates of North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah and Musandam. The camp will be held in the Scout camp in Saham from January 22 to February 2, 2023 with the participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Hassan bin Khalfan Al Abd Salam, Head of the Scouts and Girl Guides Department in North Al Batinah, it is expected that the number of participants in the camp will reach 356 from the scouts and guides from the scout commissions in the governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Musandam and North Al Batinah, in addition to participants from the Girl Guide teams in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"The participants in the camp were divided into two periods, the first: from the 22nd - 26th of January, for the Girl Guides camp, with the participation of 175 female guides from the four governorates, in addition to participants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The second period is from the 29th January till 2nd February 2023 for the Scouts camp, with the participation of 181 scouts from the four governorates and participants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, " He added.
The head of the Scouts and Guides Department in North Al Batinah explained that the winter camp this year focuses on physical and sports development skills, scouting and guiding skills, living in nature, the challenge and adventure programme, the tourism and discovery programme, scientific skills and innovation. As well as promoting citizenship values and personal development skills.
Projects and investment opportunities in Nizwa Industrial City reviewed
Nizwa Industrial City, affiliated to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates "Madayn", reviewed the most prominent industrial, commercial and service projects and its marketing plans related to investment opportunities in the city and Al Dakhiliyah in general.
This came during the visit of His Excellency Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of the Al Dakhiliyah, to Nizwa Industrial City, in the presence of a number of their Excellencies and officials.
Ahmed bin Salem Al Hajri, Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, confirmed during the visit that the volume of investment in the city exceeded OMR 470 million, indicating that the percentage of Omanisation in jobs for Omanis reached 42 percent, with 2,900 workers out of the total workforce of about 6,000 workers.
Winners of Clubs' competition for cultural creativity for Wilayats of Liwa and Shinas were announced
The Youth Committee of Al Salam Club announced the winners of the clubs’ competition for cultural creativity for the wilayats of Shinas and Liwa in North Al Batinah Governorate, under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Abri, the Wali of Liwa.
Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Awadi, head of the Youth Committee at Al Salam Club, stated that the number of participants in the competition reached 163 in 11 fields announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
Al Mu’tasim bin Abdullah Al Mamari won the first place in the field of singing, and Muhammad bin Saeed Al Omari won the first place in the field of poetry. Issa bin Youssef Al Balushi won the first place in the field of musical arts, and Al Mutasim bin Ahmed Al Maamari won the first place in the field of sports commentary.
In the field of theater, Khalid bin Suleiman Al Balushi won the first place, and Lamia bint Salem Al Raisi won the first place in the field of plastic arts, while Jawaher bint Mansour Al Jabri won the first place in the field of photography. Said bin Khadim Al Balushi won first place in the field of short films, and Saif bin Abdullah Al Jabri won first place in the field of smartphone applications.
The Media Creativity team won the first place in the field of the best media team, and the Al Rabea team won the first place in the field of the cultural competition.
The winners of the first places will compete in the next stage at the level of North Al Batinah Governorate and the level of the Sultanate of Oman, according to the schedule announced by the main committee of the competition.
