Muscat: On the occasion of Victory Day of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Social Club Oman has inaugurated a football tournament named “Gulf Exchange Gold Cup” Football Tournament 2022-2023.
Eight teams from different regions of Oman participated in the Gulf Exchange Gold Cup football tournament, which started at the Muscat Club Stadium.
HOC Thawing of Bangladesh Embassy Muscat inaugurated the tournament at the Muscat Club Stadium ground on 30 December.
The CEO of Gulf Overseas Exchange, Iftekhar Ul Hasan Chowdhury was the guest of honor at the inaugural function.
It was presided over by Club Chairman Sirajul Haque and anchored by Club General Secretary NM Amin.
Biman Bangladesh Country Manager Sharif Alam and Alhaj Mohammad Noman were special guests. Club Vice President Rezaul Karim, Treasurer Maulana Abdul Salam, Joint Secretary Mohammad Anwar Hossain and Abdul Rahim, Organizing Secretary Abul Bashar Sarkar, Publicity Secretary Hafez Mohammad Nazim Uddin Chowdhury, Ajit Shil, Tauhid, Manik, Jasim were also present.
The event was also attended by prominent people of the community namely Engineer Mustafa Kamal, Kibria Kalam Chowdhury, Engineer Abdul Hamid, Nur Hossain Talukder, Isa Chowdhury, Abu Taher, Mohammad Younus, SM Haroon, Gulf Exchange officials and many renowned community leaders.
The tournament kicked off at 6.30pm at Muscat Club Stadium in presence of thousands football fans. In first match, Hamaria Football Ekadosh defeated NRB Football Club by 3-0 goals.
Bangladesh football fans and their family members watched the matches. Two matches will be played on every Friday and the tournament will continue till mid of February 2023.
