E-payment to begin at Oman hospitals in January

Starting from January 1, 2018, only electronic payment via debit/credit cards will be accepted at public hospitals

Muscat: Electronic payment at the government hospitals will begin from January next year, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Starting from January 1, 2018, only electronic payment via debit/credit cards will be accepted at public hospitals.

"The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to draw the attention of the public that, the collectin of all fees and amounts due to the Ministry in all its health institution will be via E-payment through the credit/ debit card, effective from January 1, 2018," the MOH said in an online statement.

The Ministry has started the E-payment service through the credit/debit card since first of October 2016.



This step is part of the Sultanate’s national plan to shift its public institution to e-government services.
