Made in Oman campaign launched in Dhofar Governorate
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion launched on Tuesday the “Made in Oman” campaign in Dhofar Governorate.
The launch of the campaign, which was held at the Lulu Hypermarket Mall, Salalah branch, was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
Sheikh Jamal bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Director General of the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Dhofar Governorate, said that the campaign aims to enhance the business environment, support and encourage Omani manufacturers and service providers who own small and medium enterprises, as well as support the Omani industry by introducing and promoting Omani products and encouraging local and resident consumers to buy Omani products.
Salalah Chess Championship concluded
Salalah International Chess Championship, organised by the Oman Chess Committee in cooperation with the Oman Telecommunications Company “Omantel”, concluded at the Sultan Qaboos Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah, with the participation of 46 players representing the Sultanate of Oman, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, India and the Philippines. It lasted for five days.
Musa bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate sponsored the closing ceremony.
The player Shaurya was crowned the winner and Salim bin Mohammed Al-Omari was the runner up. At the level of the 12-year category, the player Darshan Rah Mohin won the first place, and at the level of the 16-year category, the player Atriv Bansal won the first place.
Amin bin Hassan Al-Ansi won the best Omani player and Salem bin Ali Al-Mashaikhi won the second best Omani player.
New Drinking Water Factory set up in the Wilayat of Bahla at a cost of OMR 2 million
LA Drinking Water Factory of the Taawun Investment Company - a private company for entrepreneurs in the Wilayat of Bahla - was inaugurated in the Khumaila Industrial Area in the Wilayat of Bahla, at a cost of OMR 2 million.
His Excellency Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al-Hajri, Governor of the Ministry of Al Dakhiliyah and the sponsor of the inauguration , said: "Private companies are relied upon to find job opportunities at the governorate level to promote medium and small companies."
His Excellency confirmed that the governor's office has future plans to expand and deliver services to the Khumaila industrial scheme in the Wilayat of Bahla
Khalil bin Ibrahim Al Hinai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Taawun Investment Company, said: “The drinking water bottling plant, which was established in the Khumaila Industrial Area, is located on an area of 21,000 square meters.”
"The factory produces about 24,000 bottles per hour, and they are distributed to a number of governorates and wilayats in the Sultanate, " Al Hinai added.
