Muscat: The Royal Air Force of Oman has celebrated on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, the Sultan's Armed Forces Day at the Seeb Air Base.
"The Royal Air Force of Oman celebrates today at the Seeb Air Base the Sultan's Armed Forces Day, which falls on December 11 of each year, under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Said bin Mubarak Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning,” Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
The ceremony began with a military salute to His Excellency the sponsor of the occasion, followed by a silent infantry military show presented by the participants in the celebration of the armed forces, and a musical performance was presented that included a number of various musical pieces.
His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and the attendees watched a parachute show in the sky, presented by the free jumping team of the Royal Air Force of Oman. After that, a number of combat aircraft flew over the sky , presenting their air show to celebrate the day of the Sultan's Armed Forces.
The celebration reflected the high capabilities and skills of the members of the Royal Air Force of Oman, as well as the development and modernisation of the weapon in equipment, machinery, modern air systems and advanced technologies.
At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, the leaders and the audience toured the exhibition, which included a display of a number of modern and advanced aircraft, weapons and air equipment that keep pace with the national requirements and missions undertaken by the Royal Air Force of Oman.
The event was attended by Staff Lieutenant General, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces, several leaders of the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security agencies, a number of retired commanders, a number of their Excellencies, senior officers, retired members of the Royal Air Force of Oman, group of officers, individuals of the Royal Air Force of Oman, and other invitees.
