Seven arrested on charges of human trafficking

Muscat: Six expats and one citizen were arrested on charges of human trafficking, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) have announced.
A police source said, "The police command of Muscat arrested six Asian nationals and a citizen on charges of human trafficking."
The source added that the investigation had revealed that the defendants had detained three women of "Asian nationality" in an apartment and forced them into prostitution in exchange for cash.
The defendants were referred to the judicial authorities to complete the legal proceedings.
In a seperate case, another expat was arrested in Buraimi for helping two people enter the Sultanate illegally.
The ROP said, "The police department in Buraimi arrested an Asian truck driver for attempting to illegally help two people enter the Sultanate."
