Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a warning for rain of varying intensity, with chances of flooding of valleys on Saturday night and Sunday morning in most of the governorates of the Sultanate.
The statement says, "Chances of rain of varying intensity, sometimes thundery, with amounts ranging between 10 and 40 mm. It will continue during the night and Sunday morning, leading to flooding of wadis in parts of the governorates of Muscat, South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Sharqiyah, and Al Dakhiliyah.
Forecasts also indicate chances of sporadic rain ranging between 5 and15 mm in parts of the governorates of North Al Batinah, Musandam, Al Wusta and Dhofar. The sea will be moderate to rough on the coasts of the Sea of Oman and Musandam Governorate, with a maximum wave height of 2 to 3 metres.
The Civil Aviation Authority has called on everyone to take precautions and caution during rain, not to cross valleys, avoid low places, and avoid going to the sea during the warning period.
