Muscat: The production of M95 motor fuel in Oman rose by 9.7 per cent, to reach 12,187,700 barrels, until the end of October 2022, compared to the same period in 2021.
According to the statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), sales of M95 decreased slightly by 0.8 per cent, to reach 10,516,000 barrels, while exports amounted to 2,745,900 barrels, an increase of 93.1 per cent until the end of October 2022.
Initial statistics indicated that the total refinery products decreased by 2.2 per cent until the end of October 2022, compared to the same period in 2021.
The production of standard grade petrol M91 increased by 1.3 per cent to reach 11,336,200 barrels, while its sales amounted to 10,837,300 barrels, an increase of 48.8 per cent. The exports of M91 decreased by 61.8 per cent, to reach 1,519,000 barrels at the end of October 2022, compared to the same period in 2021.
Diesel sales increased by 11.5 per cent, to reach 12,426,900 barrels, while exports decreased by 26.5 per cent, and production by 12.2 per cent until the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
The data showed an increase in aviation fuel sales by 104 per cent to 2.51 million barrels, and an increase in its production by 34.4 per cent to reach 6.39 barrels, while its exports amounted to 3.83 barrels, an increase of 8.1 per cent at the end of October 2022.
With regard to petrochemicals, polypropylene witnessed an increase in exports by 36.7 per cent, and production by 15.1 per cent, while its sales decreased by 47.9 per cent until the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
On the other hand, both paraxylene and benzene witnessed a decrease in production and exports, as their production decreased by 82.1 per cent and 70.8 per cent, respectively, while exports recorded a decrease of 83.2 per cent for paraxylene and 74.4 per cent for benzene until the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
