Oman, Thailand hold talks to boost bilateral relations

Bangkok: A session of political consultations was held yesterday between the Sultanate and the Kingdom of Thailand in the Thai capital Bangkok.
The Sultanate’s side in the session was led by Dr. Mohammed bin Awadh Al Hassan, Acting Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs in the Foreign Ministry, while the Thai side was led by Panyarak Poolthup, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The consultations session discussed means of promoting the bilateral relations and enhancing them to serve the joint interests of the two countries, besides touching on several regional issues of common concern.
The two sides agreed on the importance of coordination and consultation between the two foreign ministries, stemming from the keenness of their leaderships to follow up the progress of cooperation and to develop it towards greater horizons. The session was attended from the Omani side by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qatabi, Head of the Asian Department in the Foreign Ministry and Abdullah bin Saleh Al Maimani, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, whilst it was attended from the Thai side by Director General of South Asia, Middle East and Africa Affairs Department and a number of officials in the Thai Foreign Ministry.
