1. Oman Customs thwarts attempts to smuggle prohibited cigarettes

Oman Customs has foiled two attempts to smuggle prohibited cigarettes into the Sultanate of Oman.

"The customs of the Khatmat Milaha port thwarted two attempts to bring in quantities of restricted cigarettes, which the two defendants concealed in the cavities of the vehicles in professional ways, in order to evade paying taxes and permit procedures," Oman Customs said in a statement.
