Muscat: Oman Data Park (ODP) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Omani-British company Crossword Cybersecurity, to provide services that contribute to reducing cyber security risk for public and private entities and enhance the protection of the cyber security structure of sensitive information in Oman.
The agreement aims at adding more security measures to secure the data hosting process for the institutions and companies, enhance its protection from the danger of third parties such as suppliers and other parties, and ascertain funding sources, verifying suspicions of money laundering.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Maqbool Al-Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park (ODP) and Stuart Jubb, the group managing director of Crossword Cybersecurity.
Commenting on this event, Engineer Maqbool bin Ali Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park Company, stated: “We are pleased to sign a partnership agreement with an international company such as Crossword, to transfer technology related to cyber security to ensure the protection of the sensitive data of government entities and private companies in the Sultanate of Oman, in particular, combating against external attacks that targeting some public and private companies where they are penetrating their devices and affecting their data and incurring heavy losses for them."
Maqbool added, "We delight to call on government agencies and companies to take advantage of high-tech services to bridge the gap in the areas of cyber security information sharing.”.
For his part, Khalid bin Ali Al Maskari, Director of Development at Crossword Cybersecurity said, “Signing an agreement with Oman Data is considered as a strategic step to set a cyber-security plan at the regional level, while this agreement allows expanding cyber security services and enhances the skills of national cadres with professional experiences.”
