Colombo: Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena received on Tuesday Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council and his accompanying delegation in Colombo.
Dr. Al Mantheri conveyed the greetings and wishes of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the president and his country’s people further progress and prosperity.
In his turn, president Maithripala Sirisena asked Dr. Al Mantheri to convey his greetings of good health and happiness to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people further progress and prosperity. President Sirisena also expressed his appreciation for the role His Majesty the Sultan plays in international peace
and security. Dr. Al Mantheri and his accompanying delegation were also received by Ranil Wickremesinghe Sri Lanka’s prime minister.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister hoped the visit would further enhance the cooperation between the two countries. The meeting also reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries in various spheres and ways of their enhancement.
The meetings were attended by the delegation accompanying Dr. Al Mantheri, the Sultanate ambassador to Sri Lanka and a number of Sri Lankan officials.
Dr. Al Mantheri was also received by Karu Jayasuriya, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Dr. Al Mantheri, his delegation and the Sultanate’s ambassador to Sri Lanka also attended a meeting for the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
