Oman Al-Khair exhibition inaugurated at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in the Wilayat of Seeb
The Oman Al-Khair exhibition was opened today at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in the Wilayat of Seeb . The exhibition will last for three days, under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najar, Minister of Social Development.
The exhibition comes in cooperation with a number of female entrepreneurs affiliated with small and medium enterprises in the Governorate of Muscat, and the Omani Women Association in Muscat.
Muhaira bint Hashim Al-Baram, Vice-Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Omani Women’s Association in Muscat, said: "The exhibition, in its first edition, is held on the occasion of the 52nd National Day of the Sultanate of Oman to support and empower Omani women in several fields, most notably the economic field, in addition to recognising the importance of deepening and expanding the partnership between government agencies and the private sector."
Al-Baram confirmed that the exhibition includes displaying a range of Omani traditional products and industries, as well as presenting 350 brands from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
" The exhibition will contribute to supporting small and medium companies, home business owners and social security families, and will provide the local market with what the consumer needs in his daily life," Al-Baram added.
Dhofar Municipality issues tenders on rainwater drainage and valley protection
Dhofar Municipality has issued two tenders through the electronic tendering system for the Tender Board, as part of the municipality's plans to develop the infrastructure in accordance with the development requirements in the governorate.
The first tender included a project for the construction and implementation of rainwater drainage networks in different areas in the Wilayat of Salalah, where the project was divided into four sectors, the first sector includes the northern, central and southern regions of Awqad and the industrial area of Awqad.
The second sector includes the areas of Al Wadi, Salalah Al Gharbia, Salalah Al Wusta, Salalah Al Sharqiah, New Salalah, Al Mu`tazah, Al Husn, Al Qu`f, Al Hasilah, Al Zawiyah, and the Airport. The third sector includes the northern and southern Al-Saada areas, the northern and southern Dahariz, and the fourth sector will be the northern, southern Sahalnoot and Mamoura areas.
The second tender, includes a project to construct and implement protections for valley walls from the danger of erosion due to torrential rains, and to protect homes and facilities adjacent to valleys from the effects of torrents and climatic conditions such as depressions, storms and hurricanes.The works aim to ensure the flow of valleys without affecting the populated areas. The project will include protection constructions for the valleys of Sumer, Salwat, Sahalnoot , Dahaq, Difour and Thamrin.
The two tenders for rainwater drainage and protection of valleys from floods come within the framework of the solutions developed by the national team to develop solutions for rainwater drainage in the Governorate of Dhofar, which is headed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, and includes in its membership a number of national experts specialised in the field of rain drainage.
