Here's how Mwasalat's new buses will be safer than ever for passengers

Muscat: National bus operator, Mwasalat announced that its new buses will be equipped with new technology to prevent road accidents.
The new buses will be fitted with a collision warning and emergency braking system. The technology automatically applies full brakes to the bus if a collision with a vehicle in front is imminent and the driver doesn't react to the initial warning.
Ninety eight new buses are scheduled to join Mwasalat fleet from December 2017. "These buses in phases will continue till August 2018," it had said recently.
The buses will cost more than OMR11,677,000.
From October 20, Mwasalat had extended its city routes until midnight.
The city routes — Mabela-Ruwi, Ruwi-Muttrah, Muscat-Ruwi-Amerat and Ruwi-Wadi Kabir — are now available from 6 am to midnight.
Mwasalat operates several routes in Muscat along with services to various governorates as well as a line connecting Dubai.
"We had just eight buses in Muscat prior to November 2015. But now, we have buses connecting every part of Muscat. Besides that, we created lot of jobs," an official of Mwasalat had said earlier.
